B.I.B.S., a.s. (Brno International Business School) is a modern and dynamically developing private university that provides high-quality British, Finnish and Czech economic, managerial and legal university studies. It was established in 1998 and its key partners are the British Nottingham Trent University and Finnish University of Jyväskylä. At present it has nearly 3,000 students in bachelor, master, doctoral and managerial MBA programmes and is one of the biggest private business schools in the Czech Republic and the largest MBA business school in the country.
The school professionally specializes in both economic-managerial and legal fields. In the case of economic-managerial programmes, it belongs among the top Czech Republic providers in the field of managerial education in strategic management. In the case of legal programmes, the school focuses on commercial law in general and further on international commercial law.
Besides education and the development of the spectrum and also further enhancement of quality of the offered economic-managerial programmes, one of the new priorities of our school is also the field of economic-managerial research, which we have been actively developing since 2007 both within the framework of doctoral programmes DBA and PhD, and by involvement in international research projects. We also closely cooperate within the business sphere.
BIBS is a winner of prominent awards. In 2008, it was selected by the company Eduniversal as the 2nd best Business School in the Czech Republic in the category “Excellent Business School, nationally strong and with continental links”. It was similarly classified also in the year 2008 by the Regional Chamber of Commerce into the ten best small and middle companies of the city of Brno.

In our approach to education, we strive for a balanced combination of theory and practice. For our students we emphasize both theoretical knowledge as well as the ability to criticize the theoretical approaches, selecting among them those that are suitable for their own entrepreneurial or managerial experience. Especially, we focus on their ability to use the newly acquired knowledge creatively and flexibly in their work experience.
The key partner for Brno International Business School is a British university, Nottingham Trent University, or more precisely the Faculty of Economics at Nottingham Business School. Nottingham Trent University accredits (provides education licences for) most of the university programmes of our school (BA Hons, MSc, MBA, LLM, DBA). In 2009, we initiated a permanent collaboration with the Finnish School of Economics and Business, University of Jyväskylä, on the occasion of providing an international doctoral programme for entrepreneurs and managers (PhD).
